14 de October de 2021In July, Minervet S.A. held the 2021 Minervet International Symposium. The event presented important news in the field of poultry and swine nutrition related to the use of shikimates and mycotoxin binders developed by Minervet. The conferences were held in virtual format and attendees from China, Bolivia, Paraguay, Colombia, Peru, the Dominican Republic, Bangladesh, Argentina and Ecuador participated.
The first conference was given by Dr. Germán Gonzalez, veterinarian of the Minervet technical team, who presented generalities about fungi and contaminating species of cereals and feed, the conditions that favor the appearance of mycotoxins, what are the effects and how to prevent them, with the help of mycotoxin binders.
Mycotoxins are secondary metabolites produced by toxigenic fungi that contaminate food and feed used in animal feed, causing alterations in different organs and reducing the productivity of animals.
With the help of mycotoxin binders, such as Aisen and Aisen Plus, both Minervet products, mycotoxicosis caused by any type of mycotoxin can be prevented. Therefore, the addition of mycotoxin binders in feed becomes an effective solution to promote intestinal integrity and welfare, with a positive impact in terms of production and food safety.
After this intervention, Dr. Roberto Minetti, presented the shikimatos and their mechanism of action. During the talk, Dr. Minetti explained how these natural components can help to improve the physiology of the organs and, in this way, improve the productive indices and the natural resistance of the animals against infections.
The event closed with two exhibitions from the Mendoza Chamber of Commerce on the agricultural sector, the Argentine economy, perspectives and the latest technologies in the sector.
The Minervet International Symposium is held annually and this time it was organized in collaboration with Veterinaria Digital. In addition, it was attended by clients, distributors, universities and suppliers.
