29 de March de 2022During the conference mycotoxin binders, preservatives and shikimates have been presented
On March 16, 2022, Minervet S.A. organized a training day for its distributor and customers in China. During the conference, the mycotoxin binders, Aisen and Aisen Plus; the immediate action feed and raw material preservative, Minermold; and the shikimates, Miner I, were presented.
The talks addressed the mechanism of action of the products described and in vivo tests that support their effectiveness in improving performance and animal welfare in poultry and pig farming were presented.
How to prevent the negative effects of mycotoxins?
Mycotoxins are toxic metabolites originated from a large diversity of fungi that cause various alterations in the organs of animals and decrease their productivity.
The presence of mycotoxins in animal feed affects not only animal health, but also directly impacts production yields (delayed growth, poor feed conversion rate, lower feed consumption, decreased reproductive efficiency, among others) causing significant economic losses for poultry and pig production.
Minervet’s mycotoxin binders, Aisen and Aisen Plus, are made up of Polysilicol, a molecule obtained from natural bentonites that, by means of a specific treatment, is optimized turning it into a unique molecule with a great capacity for binding to mycotoxins. The mycotixin binders are free of heavy metals and with bacteriological standards accepted by the European Union.
Both binders do not have a pharmacological effect, they are effective at low doses (0.5-1 kg/Tn), they have a broad spectrum of binding several mycotoxins and they make a selective adsorption capturing only mycotoxins, without capturing vitamins and minerals.
Minermold as a feed preservative
Minermold, a natural preservative for raw materials and feed that eliminates bacteria and yeasts immediately with an effectiveness of 6 months after mixing with the feed, was also presented at the training.
Minermold combines the action of citric acid and phenolic rings acting directly on the wall of bacteria and yeasts, generating a destabilization of the internal cellular environment.
The Minermold tests presented at the training showed that it has an immediate effect against E. coli and Salmonella bacteria, with an antimicrobial effectiveness close to 100%. In addition, the product is stable at different pH’s and resists pelletizing and extrusion processes.
MMiner I – immune system stimulator
The end of the talk focused on the presentation of Miner I, an additive that improves both innate and acquired immunity in young and adult animals. Formulated with Shikimates, active molecules of botanical origin, Miner I strengthens and maintains the animal’s immune system, as well as raises post-vaccination antibody titers, which has a positive impact on economic and production parameters.
