23 de March de 2018On March 2nd, Minervet S.A. organized a technical conference under the title “Pronutrients and other alternatives to AGPs and other chemical additives” at the SENASA facilities in Buenos Aires.
The conference was devoted to a review of legislation on issues of additives and chemicals used in animal feed in different parts of the world and nine viable alternatives to the use of chemical products were presented.
Organic and inorganic acids, antioxidants, mycotoxin binders, natural preservatives, enzymes, prebiotics, probiotics and pronutrients. All these listed are currently the main alternatives to reduce the use of AGP and, therefore, reduce chemicals in animal feed, maintaining the parameters economic and productive.
The conference also highlighted the main problems that producers face to consolidate alternatives, among which are: the regulations that are pending to be developed for these products, the difficulty of implementing farm changes, additives costs, research and difficulties of investments in animal welfare and the need of awareness raising among the nutritionists.
The event was attended by SENASA executives, such as Eng. Alejandro Fernandez, Dr. Roberto Minetti and Lic. Andrea Passini, as well as professionals, veterinarians and nutrition managers from nutrition companies that gathered to get more information about the alternatives to the chemical products.
